Save the TREE and use COTTON HANKIES

Well, these hankies I made for my upcoming craft show. In here we dont use much Tissue hankies. Most people use Cotton Hankies. So I thought of making something cheerful.I use 100% cotton fabric. It's double and I did the buttonhole stitch all around. In few hankies I put Iron-ON Applique, and in some I embroidered.
Thanks for looking and all comments are most welcome..^_^..

Installing A HUSBAND

Email Forward from a friend:

INSTALLING A HUSBAND

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from

Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition,
Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as
NBA 5.0,
NFL 3.0 and
Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0
no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running
Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?
Signed,

Desperate

**************

DEAR DESPERATE

,

First, keep in mind,
Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command:
ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0update.
If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause
Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.

Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do,
DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the
Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crashHusband 1.0.

In summary,
Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend:
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck!!!

Steering Wheel

My elder son is soo crazy about cars..he collects car pics from magazines, car brochures, etc. He even had one "gear" (broken one). Everyday he will set up his "CAR" i.e: 2 chairs, One Gear Box, and a steering Wheel

One day he came up to me with an idea and a used card board on his hand. "Mama please make a steering wheel for me.YOu know, you just make a circle here and cut it". Well, since it was his crafty idea I dont have the heart to say No. I did what he asked. The next day, he fiddled with the steering wheel and came up to me again. He said, "you know, actually the middle part is not like this. It should be like this and that bla bla bla" He explained to me how the Zen Estillo's steering wheel look like. SO I made it, add the S and he color it. And today he said "The S is not like this, you know. I'll show you one picture and please make one for me". So here is the latest version of Rizqi's Zen Estillo Steering Wheel..

It may be simple and made of used card board, but he really proud of it. And so far he had 2 steering wheels, the other one is Toyota Innova..:D

Vrooooooom........

Few That I have Done

I haven't post anything in here for a long time now...:D. Been a lil hectic and busy with my other BLOG and "meeting" old friends in facebook..yeah, it's quite time consuming actually. That's also the reason I'm avoiding chatting on YM too often since I will never get anywork done..LOL.
Anyway, here are few things I've done in the recent past.....Now my other projects already line up..:( and I'm going for holidays for a month!!!....YAY...

Smocked Dress

The other one

That's all for today...I hope to finish few things before I go for holidays...*excited*

Mithai

What's the significant of Indian Sweets? Pertama-tama waktu baru "mendarat" di sini, kalo bertamu selalu di suguhin "sweets" atai Mithai dalam bhs Indianya. India is BIG in celebrating their festivals. Whatever the occasions MITHAI is always there. Misalnya beberapa minggu lalu waktu Rizqi ketrima di sekolahnya yang baru. I went to his current school (shamrock) to tell the teachers that Rizqi got a seat. And immidiately one of them said "Ohh you must give us mithai"..OMG, I forgot all about it. Then immidiately I went to the nearest Mithai shop and bought few packets of mithais.

Besides that, when we go for visiting it is "customary" to take Mithais for the host. When someone in the family is doing well in their exam, when the baby is born, when opening a new shop, when your daughter got a good proposal (of marriage), and all the religious festivals ..Mithais is always there...

hmm...in fact we just finish our second box of new year mithais and opening the next one...hehe...ada yang mau?? please help your self...LOL

FF # 7 : SIGN in Pizzeria

Aiihh....hampir aja ketinggalan..gara-gara 2 hari kemarin internet connection tiba-tiba mogok:D

Hmm...sempat bingung juga kemarin waktu sempat liat tema FF# 7 yang dihost oleh NING mengambil tema SIGN...hmm...byk sih Sign yang lucu2 disini tapi yach..I dont always carry my cam with me, and if I do, my DH will scowl at me for clicking away in the road..:)) Poor me...Anyway, sometimes back, while waiting for our son in the school, we decided to have a cup of cofee in a pizzaria nearby. And then I found this SIGN which I thought quite cute. I mean, India is very diverse. Some people dont eat pork, some dont eat beef, some even dont have anything with Onion in it..:D

I hope the sign is clear enough, though....

So, here is my entry for FF# 7: SIGN:

Yang mau ikutan bisa klik di SINI

Thanks for looking & Let's Have Fun with Foto Fun..

About the photo:

I took on our way up to Shillong few months back. It's the picture of BARAPANI -the big water- which strecth up to few kilometres on the way up to Shillong in Meghalaya State. The day was perfect, it highlighted the greenery which looking fresher after heavy rain in the morning.

Hope you enjoy it...thanks for looking..^_^

Few stuff and a little ranting...:D

I haven't posting for a loong time..:D. I made few things and got lil busy with this and that...Anyway, all's well...I'm getting ready for my next exhibition next month, but still hasnt been able to get anything done. My son's entrance for the BIG SCHOOL is on 19th, so inwardly I am quite nervous:D. The system is bugging me no ends, but again I cant go againts it. Well, who am I to complain, rite?? So, till the high n mighty ministry of education do something about it, we ~ parents ~ will continue teaching our toddlers ABC & Math as early as possible, so that our children will get a seat in a DECENT school.
Enough of my ranting...so, here I made another set of Pink top-pants-stole for the same girl, since her Mom said she love the previous one so much..(yay!!)

And here is inspired by my friend Monika . Well, I dont have maple trees here, but I always love the maple leaves...and its color during fall season. And there's a challenge in Crafsters which I wish I could participate...but I didnt get the time to finish it :(. Anyway..so far here is what I've done...I thought of doing few maple leaves on the upper right corner. *what do you think?*.
In the beginning I was not very sure with the color...but I think it looks ok now..:D
(oops forgot to upload the full fotos...It suppose to be a placemat, btw..:D)

This is a tray cloth...I did post it in my other BLOG. So I hope you dont get bored to see it again here..*LOL*...anyway..it suppose to be some flower but it looks more like chilli tree to me..:). So chilli tree it is...

Thanks for looking...and comment would be nice..;)

G'nite

9 Words Women Use

*** Dari MILIS tetangga....I find this very amusing..:D

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

What I Made Today

Last week, in the exhibition one of my Uncle's friend came and ask if I can make a dress of her 2,5 years old DD. So, I made this today, and add a dupatta (stole) for her since nowadays she like to dress up like her mother (she always wears salwar kameez). Unfortunately, no one make "salwar kameez" for 2 years old. Well, this is not actually a "salwar" but she said that will do for her DD. *mental note: learn to make salwar :D*

So, today, I made this pair for the little girl..she wants something in PINK..:). It's very simple one. I got the Tute for the peasant top from Vegbee. She has the coolest Tutorial in her blog, btw..:D *thanks Vegbee*

The detail:

That's all for today....I have several projects in mind, hopefully will get them done before November.

My sons singing to me while I was writing this:

In the morning, in the morning..we say good morning

In the afternoon, in the afternoon,..we say good afternoon

In the evening, in the evening...we say good evening

In the night, in the night, when there's moon light

We kiss mom & dad Good Night...;)

So..I guess, I say Good Night too ...;)

Hasil Pameran Perdana

I'm officially back after my first ever exihibtion here . Well, it was a hectic week and the exhibition was extended for 1 day. In the beginning I really don't know what to expect. I keep varieties of stuff, from my handmade clothes/bags/pouches to Batik & Jilbab (itung-itung mempopulerkan jilbab disini..:D)

Anyway, it went off well and I got quite good response and even custom order..(YAY!!), some even asked to be informed when I have my next exhibition. InshaAllah, I will have my next exhibition on November, December and March 2009.

What I learnt from my fellow sellers are:

1. Most of them are homemakers who's doing their business from home. I met one lady, she must be over 60 years old. Her stall was opposite mine. She's selling Mekhala Chadar (Assamese Traditional Dress). She has her own boutique, she drives around her self (in this part of India this is something commendable!!). she teaches village girls to do embroidery and other needleworks. She's doing around 10 exhibition in and out of the city.

2. There's always someone who appreciate your handmade stuff.

well, in the beginning I'm not sure if someone even take a look at the dresses or bags that I made. And I was so happy that somebody ACTUALLY liked it and BOUGHT it ha ha ha...

3. Always come prepared..hehehe...I mean, like other details: white sheet to cover the walls & tables, nails, hammer, old bed cover to cover you stall at night..he he he...

I am afraid I didnt take much photos....malu.com. So, here are few fotos that I took....

Just a little up date

These few days been busy with my first ever handycraft & handloom exhibition. It's on for 1 week from 8th to 14th september from 10 am to 8 pm. So it's kinda hectic days for me. First days was going ok and a bit tiring, since I haven't been "working" for the last 6 years hehehe...anyway, it's fun. I got to meet lots of new sellers who mainly ladies who run their business from home just like me and they do exhibition from time to time.

Actually we have lots of exhibition in here. We have this Haat call NEDFI haat which exhibit craft from North East Indian states. Different groups will hold the exhibition. SO if I want to join certain group I have to approach the committee. It's not that easy and at time needs recommendation from senior members, which is in my case, I was introduced by one friend of my MIL.

Yeasterday was good, cos few people really like what I made and some even give custom order..(YAY)...hehehe...now I learnt one thing "never underestimate your talent" he he he...The dress that I thought no body will take a look at it, was sold, even few bags & purses...:D

so, friends, wish me luck for today...I'll update the story later again....:)

Miss you all
