Feeling Pinky

I have few orphan blocks as a result of trying out new block designs or some fail bee/BOM or QAL which I follow online. The other day I was looking at the box where I kept all my orphan blocks and found these 2 pink ones. So I thought this will make a nice cushion covers. And of course they did. I did some fmq-ing and quite happy with the result.

I was mulling over what to put as a back cover, either polkadots or solid. Then I decided to do it with solid grey and put a strip of the same pink fabric. 

I still have few more orphan blocks, maybe I'll end up making more cushion covers or mini mat. It makes a pretty gift too, don't you think?

I was so uninspired after the new year et al and just have to make something. Then I saw my friend's pincushion tutorial for Riley Blake Designs  and  I started digging at my scrap bin and found patchwork pieces which I hate to discard. And I came up with these:
