In The Frame: From My MIL’s Garden

Bougainvillea

Photography is one of those hobbies I really enjoy. I take pictures around the house and whenever I’m out and about. Most days I just use my iPhone 14 Pro Max, but I also have a Sony APS‑C camera with a few lenses that I pick up when I feel like playing with something a bit more “proper.” I haven’t shared much on social media or here on the blog these past few years, so I thought this year I’d start posting more of my photos again.

These flower photos are from my MIL’s garden. A lot of the blooms are wilting because of the heavy monsoon rain, but she still manages to grow the most beautiful flowers. I don’t have green fingers at all, so I just enjoy photographing whatever she grows.

Camera: Sony ZVE-10
Lens: Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS (SEL55210)

The lens is not the sharpest but that was on my budget when I bought the camera last year and I enjoyed taking videos and some sewing videos with it.

I had fun taking these, even if the garden is a bit weather‑worn right now. Hopefully I’ll have more photo posts to share as I go.

Thank you for stopping by,

Have a nice day,

Last bit of monsoon

or not really...

It's been raining continuously for the past few days
It was hot and humid last week
Well, I guess monsoon lingers a bit longer this time

Tomorrow the school will remain closed due to water logging in the city
Since half yearly exam is going on, I guess this is the best option
otherwise few students will have to miss the exam

So, what is your favorite during the monsoon?
Well, me...I love to sip homemade herbal tea. My current fave is rosemary and thyme.

and reading some good book
or browsing Pinterest for ideas
or watching funny K drama ^_^

yesterday I was looking for  Shabby Chic ideas
and found these

Love that simple floral quilt
I I watched  one like that in one of the K drama last week ❤

I love the green tone fabrics in this one and the pillow..oh so pretty!!

So, I pulled out few fabrics too yesterday
still thinking what should I make

I love some simple and more traditional quilt
I guess you must have noticed that too

it always takes me hours and maybe days to finally settle for one design or print
sometimes when I am in a hurry to finish
I always end up not very happy with the result :(

So this time, I'm taking my time

Meanwhile, I just finished one wallet for a friend's daughter in Indonesia
I will post that tomorrow

Until then...

Happy Quilting

DQ June 2012 Challenge: All Squares

"....regrets I have a few, but then again too few to mention.." My Way - Frank Sinatra

This Cushion Covers started as a mistake. One lady wants me to make quilt for her daughter something in girly colors. So, I thought of doing 16 patch blocks like the one I saw on the web

So I cut few jelly rolls and it turned out the block is just too small for the big quilt that I plan. Luckily I only cut few pieces  as trial.

Now, what do I do with this cute tow 16 patch blocks? and then I remember the June challenge at Desi Quilters, a FB group where I belong. The RULE was make any quilt with only SQUARES.So why not use this one as a Cushion Covers..and I found a scrap green matching fabric too..so here it is..my entry for the June Challenge:

So, here's my monsoon cushion covers, just like one of my fellow DQ said:).

Until then...Happy Quilting
