Triangle Pouch is sort of hold-all pouch. The size is very generous, great to hold all your craft tools

Still remember the Handmade Label Tutorial? I'm getting better..;)

Ok Ladies, now time to take those restless kiddos out...catch you later..have a great weekends

Today’s craft

Yesterday I cut few pieces of fabric to make zipper pouch. But only 2 are done today, plus 4 fabric coasters. My working time usually  not start until my younger son goes to school at about 10.30 am. After a nice hot cup of tea & few biscuits, I usually start doing what I set out to do that day. At times, I can get very lazy and one more thing, I avoid opening my laptop when I have sewing work to do..^_*. Since I roughly have 1 hour free everyday, before my elder one come from school followed by the younger one. By the time they settle down (napping or playing with his crayons), it’s already 3 pm. If they are agreeable, I can continue my sewing otherwise it has to wait for a couple of days.

So, today being one of those hectic day, only these stuff I finished. The bright pink stripe zip pouch is made of south Indian hand woven cotton – my favorite . Both the pouches are interfaced and lightly padded, so it’s safe for gadgets too.

Today I visited my friend’s blog who has finished her embroidery projects. She did bullion stitch on one of her shirt, which is very cute and she’s done a very nice embroidery.  She’s also done smocking which is very pretty. This remind me of my unfinished smocking projects. I have done the smocking embroidery, but I haven’t got around to sew the dress..I know it’s very bad habit *_*

Pink Flowers Zip Pouches

Today I took out this pink flower fabric and a matching darkish pink (almost burgundy) south Indian cotton fabric. It makes a nice combination. The South Indian cotton fabric is quite sturdy to make pouches, coasters, etc. Plus it has a bright & deep colors.

ooh…and today finally I got a chance to try making boxy pouch. I follow tutorial from Project by Jane. She wrote a nice tutorial, easy to follow plus has lots of pics. I’m kind of visual reader, that’s why I love her tute so much…^_^ Thank you Jane for sharing it…:D

Now, it’s getting colder here..I’d better go off to sleep before my hot water bag turns cold..:))

Thanks for reading ^_^

Grab bags and more

I’m still into bag and pouch making. I have a whole lot of fabric piles which need be made into something. Some of them is the remnants from my little frocks I made few months back ^_^. My friends even call me “pouch lady” since I made and gave lots of pouches in the past ^_^ and she said i should start selling them in the shop. Hey…it’s great idea…:D .

One of these bags I made for the SWAP that I hosted for my Indonesian friends in my Other Blog.

Few Things for Friends

These are few things I have made very recently...still trying to get organized, which is something I always fail to do..:(. I do dresses till I get bored, then I switch to bags & coasters, and then embroidery...and sometimes making earrings, cell phone charms, etc...I guess I'm made that way...and whenever I clear up my workstation I just couldn't work...I sort of need my messy situation to be able to create something...hmmm...i don't know if any of you experienced the same thing..but believe me I tried to work neatly but it never worked...my idea will just desert me when my table is clean...
so, here are few...I don't know who will be the lucky one..but I intend to give this away since I'm going to Indonesia...^_*

What's new?

These are collections of what I have done and few more are coming. Some of them will be available shortly in the Shop....:)
I guess I like this collage in Picasa, maybe I'm a late comer in using this features, but it really great way to post few pictures in one frame...:)

The Notebook sleeves

I've been wanted to make one. When I saw this stripy handwoven cotton I know it's going to make a good laptop sleeves, so here it is. Lightly padded with sponge & lined with soft cotton.

The POUCHES come in PINK & Emerald.
The pink one is made of handwoven cotton. I sort of have this imagination that it will be make a good mobile pouch and all. But somehow I'm not too satisfied with the result...but no idea what was wrong with it.

The EMERALD ones are my favorite. I have these 2 fabrics for a long time. I even listed in my supply shop and sold one batch of fat quarters. The rest I just thought I'll use it up. both the fabric is cotton silk. I embelished with matte golden lace. What do you think?

The TUNICs

I've been taking quite few custom order @ chez vies recently and it's fun...:) And since dress tunic is quite in fashion now in India, so I made several. Check out more of the tunics @ the shop

Thanks for stopping by....till then...have a nice crafty days ^_^

Few little things

Days passed so quickly when you're having fun, right? It's July already...happy independence day to all of you in US of A. Summer holidays has started here, and monsoon rains has come too. The good thing about the rain is it makes the summer a bit bearable hehehe...In NE India we have a very humid summer and if there are less rain it means lots of power cut..:D

Yesterday while passing the mighty brahmaputra river, I could see all the ferries. One week rain and the river already full...just hope it won't overflow to the road.

The brats are having summer holidays which means everyday is chaotic days hehehe..Lots of paper cutting, drawing and mask painting.

Anyway, here are few little things I've made sometimes back and haven't got around to post them.

Placemat for the boys...I know it's pink, but doesnt matter since I like pink and they are still small now..:D

The detail crosstitch border. I took the design from a book

Mobile pouch from left over silk brocade fabric. I did the beading too..

I guess that's all for today...have a great weekends....

Quickie Pouch/Wrislette for dear friend

I made this pouch the other day. Actually I've been wanting to make something for her and her b'day has come and gone and she lives across the 7 seas..:D

She's a crafter herself and she makes beautiful cards. I've been very lucky to receive few of her handmade cards. What can I say..she's really really talented.

Here what I made for her: small wristlet..:D. I used pure cotton fabric left-over from the frock I made few weeks back. The lining is handwoven olive green cotton. I machine-quilted it and put a simple lace there.

I made the label my self. I print it out using fusible interfasing and it turns out ok. Though I am not sure the print will stay on after washing ^_*. But for the time being it serves the purpose..:D

I hope she likes what I made for her...and I still have few more stuff to make..
Until then....have a great day..

Lunch Bag, Purselette & Pouch

Finally after weeks of laziness, I decided to come back to make something in my sewing machine.
And here what I come up with:

1. Small lunch bag (or you can use it as diaper bas as well ~ its quite spacious). I use casement fabric. I did the applique and embroidered the leaves. I thing the applique flowers are too big..:D Anyway lesson learnt, next time I'll make better one (hopefully..;)

Hanging

2. I have this black n white handloom fabric for quite sometimes now. I wanted to make pouches/purse with it, so here the first two of my pouch
cosmetic pouch triagle side
Thank to Wulan for giving me the idea about the detail/zipper. :D

the purselette/wristlette. The same size (18 x 13 cm) with straight side

I cut another one but I run out of zipper..:D

Hope you like it. Comment would be nice and very much appreciated...
Thanks for looking..;)

Have a nice DAY
