Mini Pouches, Fabrics and The Goats

Blue Floral Keychain Wallet

This week I am a bit relaxed. I did a lot of cleaning and organizing in the sewing room and finished a couple of wallet orders. Clean table makes me more inspired to sew. Actually I tried to clean up after making orders,  but when working on several orders and projects, it's just too bothersome to clean up everyday. I tried, but always failed. So now I stop trying haha. I will put the piles aside and will clean it up at least once a week.

Once in a blue moon, my table is clean

This week I made several Twinnie pouches, a few for orders and the rest to keep as ready to ship in my Etsy Shop. Even though it's quick to sew, but it's really helpful when I have a few wallets ready to ship. The pink patchwork pouch is one of the best sellers. I have one more set in the shop now.

I also finished Nuno Wallet order in this lovely green floral. The fabric is from Rifle Paper co. Sometimes I posted a short video on my YouTube Channel when I am hand stitching the wallet binding and a few weeks ago someone asked why I hand sew it. Sewing the binding by machine makes me nervous actually and frankly, I prefer to hand sew the binding as it always turned out neater.

This week I also take a couple of fabric photos  to be listed in the shop. I still have a few fabrics which I recently procured but have not got time to take photos and edit it. Nowadays I mostly take photos using my iPhone as it's easier for me to edit and upload it. Here are a few that I recently added in the shop.
These fabrics are 100% cotton. Sometimes I kept aside a few prints that I love, and recently I got a few tops made. I'll take photos next time I am wearing them.

I shipped a few orders too this week. When shipping out orders, I try to keep it as simple as possible to minimize the cost since most my orders are for foreign buyers. And I try to use more eco-friendly packaging and  use as minimal plastic as possible, but considering the weather and the distance, this is the best I can do right now. My recent favorite is using this honeycomb paper bubble wrap.

My friend, Eva, also came to visit us this week with her two adorable daughters. The younger one especially loves animal and we took her to feed the goats some breads. The goats (Karan and Arjun) loves eating bread. In the end, she also gobbled up a slice of bread. She's just too cute. Many children scared of animals, but this little one was just rushing and eager to play with the goats and the cows. It was one fun afternoon.

That's all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy reading my blog.

Have a nice day!

Faux Leather Lace Keychains

Faux Leather Keyfobs

Hello,

Here my first sewing project in 2025! I made a fresh batch of faux leather lace keychains or key fobs! These keychains has been quite popular last year in the shop! The laces are really pretty and bought it from one of seller from Mumbai on Instagram. I love shopping online but sometimes they don't live up to your expectations. I heard so many stories from fellow crafters. So it's always better to check with your crafter friends before buying online.

Faux Leather Keychains

For now, I have green, light brown and orange keychains that are ready to ship. I have a few good quality faux leather I bought from local furnishing shop. The faux leather is imported ones so they won't peel off easily. It's pretty strong and I have used it making a few bags in the past. This year I really have to start using the rest of the faux leather. Let's see!

This keychains are so versatile. It can be used to carry keys, of course, and it’s also great as an accessory for your purse, backpack or tote bag. It’s definitely pretty enough to use as a gift for someone you love, too.

The holiday season is over and yesterday we dropped the elder son at the airport for his midnight flight back to Singapore. There was a little drama in the morning, as suddenly his Indigo flight was cancelled and he has to be at the University on the 6th Morning. All of us was frantically looking for alternative flights. Since we don't live in Metro city, we only have a few options for International flights to the South East Asia that offer faster travel time. There was Druk Air which fly directly to Singapore but it already departed in the morning. After looking at all options, we decided to book with Air Asia. Luckily the seat are still available for that day and the flight is at midnight.

In a way it was a blessing in disguise. When booking Indigo a few weeks ago, my son kept saying he wish he could fly out from here instead of transiting in Kolkata. His wish came true! Alhamdulillah. It was also less tension for us as parents. I hope we will have more international flight from here this year. Right now for direct international flight we only have Air Asia (LCC) and Druk Air (full service). Although the fare is a bit higher compared to other big cities, but we can save a lot of travel time and hassle.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a nice day,

Elvira

More Passport Wallet and Keyfobs

Hello again,

After a round of viral flu in our family during the last week of August and first week of September, now I'm back to sew again and has a long list of stuff (orders and not) that I have to finish. In the meantime I finished a couple of family passport wallets and also keyfobs.

Hello London Travel Wallet

Looks like my customers love the zip around passport holder and if you already got the passport wallet patterns, you can check this Tutorial for zip around closure

World Map Passport Holder

The map passport holder above is for 8 passport slot. I do love the green combo. This is the second one that I made for custom order. I got the fabric from an Etsy seller in the US. It's Tim Holt's Eclectic Elements. I got several map prints together to save up on the shipping. Shipping for US to India is quite expensive and on top of that I had to pay for custom duty. But it's worth it! Don't you think?

Disney and Elephant Key fobs

The fabric key fobs and key rings are so much fun to make. It's such a scrap friendly project that you can sew it in a jiffy. The Disney key fobs only available for 2 pieces above. That's the only pieces I have left in my stash.

I especially love the denim keyring. I wanted to use the fobs like the Minnie Mouse key fobs but it turned out it's too thick for the fob to set in. My sons and DH love the swivel hook version though, because it's easier to attach and detach your keys.

Which one is your fave?

Ah btw, I had  a lovely gathering last Saturday with fellow crafter/artist! Mostly are young crowds and I love their enthusiasm, which is very contagious! We're planning an exhibition sometime before Diwali here in Guwahati. Subscribe to my Blog to get the updates for follow my Instagram.

That's all from last week. I'm going to work on a couple of wallet orders this week and Insha Allah will start writing a new pattern when the sons' exam is finished.

Until next time,

Happy Sewing!
