New Fabrics

In the past few weeks I've been busy with updating the website and my Etsy Shops. After the Etsy glitch which resulted hundred of my listings were made expired, I decided to take this as a chance to refresh my listing photos and optimize the listings.

It's not an easy task especially since I am working solo, but I am happy to be busy!

I group similar fabrics together in one listing, which previously I listed individually, to save some listing fees. Etsy sellers in India have to pay quite a lot of fees, beside the listing fee. And on top of that the conversion fees too.

So without further ado, here are what I have put up in the fabric shop recently.

Off White Based fabrics

Lovely Ikat motifs

Geometric  Motifs

Unique Animal and Tree Patterns

Popular Mughal Floral Pattern

The fabrics are sold by half yard increments, but in case you want fabric bundles, please send me a message on Etsy. I'd be happy to create custom bundles for you!

Here a few inspirations (AI generated) what you can make with these beautiful fabrics:

If you love fabrics with a little personality, block print is where it’s at! This super old-school printing technique—where artisans carve patterns into wooden blocks, dunk them in dye, and stamp them onto fabric—has been around for centuries. And honestly, it’s still one of the coolest ways to get unique designs. It’s also pretty eco-friendly. Unlike mass-produced prints, block printing uses natural dyes and minimal machinery, making it a more sustainable choice.

If you're looking to bring some handcrafted charm into your style or space, block print fabric is a fantastic choice. Embrace the artistry, support skilled artisans, and add a touch of timeless elegance to your wardrobe or home décor!

Mini Pouches, Fabrics and The Goats

Blue Floral Keychain Wallet

This week I am a bit relaxed. I did a lot of cleaning and organizing in the sewing room and finished a couple of wallet orders. Clean table makes me more inspired to sew. Actually I tried to clean up after making orders,  but when working on several orders and projects, it's just too bothersome to clean up everyday. I tried, but always failed. So now I stop trying haha. I will put the piles aside and will clean it up at least once a week.

Once in a blue moon, my table is clean

This week I made several Twinnie pouches, a few for orders and the rest to keep as ready to ship in my Etsy Shop. Even though it's quick to sew, but it's really helpful when I have a few wallets ready to ship. The pink patchwork pouch is one of the best sellers. I have one more set in the shop now.

I also finished Nuno Wallet order in this lovely green floral. The fabric is from Rifle Paper co. Sometimes I posted a short video on my YouTube Channel when I am hand stitching the wallet binding and a few weeks ago someone asked why I hand sew it. Sewing the binding by machine makes me nervous actually and frankly, I prefer to hand sew the binding as it always turned out neater.

This week I also take a couple of fabric photos  to be listed in the shop. I still have a few fabrics which I recently procured but have not got time to take photos and edit it. Nowadays I mostly take photos using my iPhone as it's easier for me to edit and upload it. Here are a few that I recently added in the shop.
These fabrics are 100% cotton. Sometimes I kept aside a few prints that I love, and recently I got a few tops made. I'll take photos next time I am wearing them.

I shipped a few orders too this week. When shipping out orders, I try to keep it as simple as possible to minimize the cost since most my orders are for foreign buyers. And I try to use more eco-friendly packaging and  use as minimal plastic as possible, but considering the weather and the distance, this is the best I can do right now. My recent favorite is using this honeycomb paper bubble wrap.

My friend, Eva, also came to visit us this week with her two adorable daughters. The younger one especially loves animal and we took her to feed the goats some breads. The goats (Karan and Arjun) loves eating bread. In the end, she also gobbled up a slice of bread. She's just too cute. Many children scared of animals, but this little one was just rushing and eager to play with the goats and the cows. It was one fun afternoon.

That's all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy reading my blog.

Have a nice day!

Patchwork Pillows

Hello,

Pink Patchwork Cushion

I finished a couple of pillow covers this week. Small quilts are really fun to make and if you browse in Pinterest you will find so many ideas of small quilts. I personally love making cushion covers. I always using one around the house.

Pinwheel Patchwork

I really enjoy making the pinwheel pillow above. I made the pinwheel block based on Missouri Star Quilt tutorial on you tube. I quilted in a ditch around the center block and then do diamond/diagonal quilting on the pink border. The pillow cover is finished with black and white stripe binding to give a modern look. The pillow cover closed with envelope style closure.

Purple Pink Pillow
The pink and purple above is another favorite color. I have the blocks from previous quilts and the size is perfect for cushion cover. I quilted using wonky stitch. I find a simple quilting lines is best to highlight the quilt block.

Quilted Decorative Cushion

A matching pink cotton fabric at the back with a strip of purple polka dots.

Green Block Print Pillow
Some fabrics are too pretty to chop, just like this green one.  I used flannel batting for most of my single cloth quilting cushion cover. If you use flannel, you don't really need to add another backing. The cushion covers will have a just perfect structure. With dense quilting, it will last for along time.

And I love different pop up pillows on my sofa and chairs. Handmade cushion covers are always the best, they are long lasting, unlike the mass produce one which at the most will last for 3 washing. Especially if you have teenage boys who always think that pillow is a ball which they can toss or throw around. All the time.

What about you? What is your fave pillow?

Until then,

Happy Quilting

I love Mug Rugs

Hello,

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do. Pele

I finally finished a couple of mug rugs. I've been making these in between doing my wallet orders. I really love making these small quilts and it's a quick gift to make.

Yellow  Mug Rugs

I used Indian fabrics in this one. They are so soft and the colors are bright. A perfect companion to brighten your day.

Green Fabric Mug Rugs

I do love using these tea mats when I am reading or watching my drama. Sometimes I use it as a mouse pad too.

Red Quilted Mug Rugs

I used cotton batting and quilted them on my new Jack F4 sewing machine. I am not very fond of FMQ and always prefer quilting using my walking foot. The best thing of using industrial machine for quilting is I don't need to change the foot at all!! The foot works wonderfully from piecing the mulmul fabric to quilting it!

And one big news is I start listing my small quilts in Etsy. I opened another Etsy Shop (it's called Chezvies Quilts) since it is completely different product line than my Handmade wallet, it is always wiser to have a separate shop. The price is reasonable and it's free shipping for India! Please take a look at my new shop. I hope I will be able to share my love for quilting with you all!

Thank you so much for your supports!

A lot of Passport Covers

Hello again,

I will show you what I made a couple of days ago! Yes, I am still in 'use-my-scrap' mode. But sometimes, I could not resist esp when cutting fabrics order.

First is this Indigo blue paisley Passport Case. Everybody love paisley and I must admit, whenever I see paisley fabrics in the market, I must buy it. My suppliers even know this weakness of mine.

Paisley Passport Cover
The second one is this  Black and Offwhite tree print which (I think) is just too cute to pass, right? It's good to gift to both man and woman.
Off-white Black Tree Print Passport Cover

I simply love this green passport holder. The color, the print, the color combination, all of it. I still have quite a bit of this print, I might make a single passport wallet or a family version too.

Green Passport Cover

This Aqua Green fabric I keep for quite a while. Recently I started making fat quarter bundles for the both my Etsy and Chezvies Shop. While cutting this, I decided I must keep a little bit and voila! This print and color don't always available in the market. I hope next summer my supplier will bring more of this color and print.
Aqua Green Passport Cover
Then I continue making this black and white passport holder. I really love this fabric, that I used the same fabric for the lining. Afterall black and white is always timeless.

Black & White Passport Cover

And these 2 cute passport covers I completed last  Saturday. I was not sure what to make of the dog fabric one. I thought the dog print would be too big for the cover, but it turned out perfectly fine. Even the I woof you print just on the right spot!

Passport Cover for dog lovers
It turned out I still have this cute blue fabric from the quilt I made for Josephine, my friend Agnes' daughter, 2 years ago.

Blue Cat Passport Cover
The color is so soft, it was a bit difficult to take photos to capture the real color. My fave photo session time is in the morning before 10 AM but most of the time I have to do it after 10 AM. Good thing I put up a sheer curtain on my enclosed balcony, so it worked out well as a diffuser.

So, what are your fave pattern to make with your scraps?
Please write your blog or SNS link in the comment, I'll be glad to check them out.

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Bifold Wallets

Hello,

I've been very busy with fabrics in the past few weeks. I tried to destash some of my stocks by making them into fabric bundles and fabric duos. And in the process, loads of inspiration going through my mind and one of them was these kawaii (cute) bifold wallets

Matryoshka Bifold Wallet
I used the pattern from Napkitten Pattern in Etsy. The pattern is a bit confusing at first since it does not have a template. I decided to make templates based on the measurement given.

Blue Owl

After you get the hang of it, it sort of addictive. I'm happy because I can use some of the fabrics from my scrap bins. Leftover binding from my passport holders,

While making these wallets, I realized how much I enjoyed making small things from fabric remnants. Sometimes, we tend to be carried away by the current trend, that we lost our own focus.

I realized I love making small things or something bigger with more details.  I find it more challenging and it gives me immense satisfaction when I can complete it.

Quilted Bifold Wallet

I like to try a new technique or new materials since in India we don't have fancy bag making materials. I like to experiment and to see how's the result.

Pink Owl Bifold Wallet
The bifold wallet, even though it's quite small, it has bill compartment, slots for few cards, slip pockets and coin pouch. I am currently using one. It fits nicely into my fave sling bag.
