Happy Teacher's Day

Ehm..sebetulnya agak telat postingnya karena di India Teacher's Day jatuh pada tanggal 5 SEPTEMBER.

So sebelumnya, to all my teacher friends

"HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY"

Well, sebetulnya si anaknya yg harus bikin, tp karena udah malem & they will make a mess instead of making the card, jadi emaknya yg ngebut bikin kartu ha ha ha....setelah bongkar-bongkar "our small room" , nemu deh kertas kuning. Tapi mau diapain?? Spidol ada juga udah "setengah habis", yah tp di paksain masih bisa lah buat nulis. Trus telp. Bapaknya anak-anak, tolong di print-kan tulisan Happy teacher's day huehehe...maksa.com deh pokoknya.

Bags and everything else

Been making lots of small bags (pouches) these days...and busy with my first venture HERE, and my exhibition next month..I feel like 24 hours is never enough if you have to do all by your self. Anyway, my dear Mom inLaw is really BIG support since she helps me a lot with looking after the kids (though I have maid, but can trust them nowadays??), so that I have a little time to do this and that..:) ..thats including Blogging and I'm too much into blogging in my other BLOG nowadays. And I got lots of stuff to upload to my ETSY shop and havent taken any photos cos my cam just refused to work. Thankfully my Dearest Hubby got another one for me after seeing me struggling with editing each and every photos I took using my handycam..:X Isn't he sweet??
OK enough about ranting, now I want to talk about these little bags I made. Well, one is finished and when I pulled the zipper, i just gave away!!!.Now what do I do?? I hate ~repeat H*A*T*E ~ opening it again since it means I have to open everything and start making it all over again. So I do the next best thing, by putting it away till I got better idea what to do with it. *Anyone ???*

so, here they are: (pssstt! the stripe one at the back is the one having prob. with the zip:D)

Oh and I started learing CROCHET too, by the way. I've seen my friend here making pretty crochet stuff that I decided I have to learn. Well, this aunt of my DH knows about it and she tought me a little bit before she went to visit her DD, so here it is:

I did the neck line and the mirror work (what's the best word to describe it actually??) just to give a little accent there. This is is my fave fabric. Pure cotton with this print. Though it's quite common here in INDIA but still I love the print. I had one in Pink and Green too...:D. If you like it, you can take a look at the detail of the tunic HERE

Hmm..that's all for today...hope you all have a great weekends...just remember: Stay healthy, eat healthy and Have a nice CRAFTY day...;)

Lunch Bag, Purselette & Pouch

Finally after weeks of laziness, I decided to come back to make something in my sewing machine.
And here what I come up with:

1. Small lunch bag (or you can use it as diaper bas as well ~ its quite spacious). I use casement fabric. I did the applique and embroidered the leaves. I thing the applique flowers are too big..:D Anyway lesson learnt, next time I'll make better one (hopefully..;)

Hanging

2. I have this black n white handloom fabric for quite sometimes now. I wanted to make pouches/purse with it, so here the first two of my pouch
cosmetic pouch triagle side
Thank to Wulan for giving me the idea about the detail/zipper. :D

the purselette/wristlette. The same size (18 x 13 cm) with straight side

the detail

I cut another one but I run out of zipper..:D

Hope you like it. Comment would be nice and very much appreciated...
Thanks for looking..;)

Have a nice DAY

Just came back

We just came back from Shillong for holiday. Actually, it's long overdue. Due to my DH hectic schedule in the office, we simply couldn't go earlier. My elder son was very excited the moment we said "we are going to Shillong" since he loves to run around in the Golf link there.

Oh, by the way,  Shillong is a Hill Town, the capital of Meghalaya state in NE India. It's almost 3 hours drives from where we live now. It's a popular destination for weekend gateways because of its weather. It's relatively cold throughout the year. It has the popular CHEERA PUNJI or SOHRA, the wettest place on earth with its natural root bridge, caves, and waterfalls. Too bad we couldn't go there this time.

Anyway, we stayed in Pinewood Hotel. It's a government hotel so the service etc is SO SO, but the good thing is the bathroom is clean..:D. Well, I'm a bit particular about this one since we traveled with children below 5 years:D

The hotel is right in the heart of the town. So it's easy to access. Shillong is not a big town anyway, but it's always more practical to stay in a hotel that has special lawn for the kids to run around, and near the park and shopping area. Ehm...about shopping, my DH said "we are going on holiday, not for shopping..:D" and I said, "Well, that's from man's point of view, from my point of view, a holiday is not complete without shopping"..Rite, ladies?????? So, we spent 2 nights there, we went to Elephant Falls. This waterfall has 3 steps of water falling. The main Falls is right down there. I don't know how high exactly but it's quite tiring. Luckily the weather is such that you don't feel lethargic so much and it's worth it to climb down and up and touch the cool water:D.

Ward Lake for boating & feeding the fish & ducks,

Lady Hydery Park to see the flowers ~ but too bad this time the flower has become bad due to excessive rain,

and to play a bit...

We went Golf Link to run around a bit. It was quite cloudy and lots of people playing golf in one side, foot ball down there and also cricket in one side. It's a sprawling place. It was just nice to sit and watch the kids run around....

And of course the popular Police Bazaar. I visited few emporiums too and got few interesting stuff.

Here are few stuff that I bought: 1. Clock with various pulses inside. I bought this from a souvenir stall at the Elephant Falls owned by an elderly Khasi Lady:

2. Craft books/magazines. Found them in one of the old dusty bookstall. The magazines are secondhand of course, but it's still in good condition with the pattern attached. So I just couldn't leave them behind, though my DH make faces at me...:D

I think that's all for today....:) Thanks for dropping by and Have a Nice Day

Mother of Pearl

Sometime back I made this one...I'm not sure how you like it but I'm quite happy with it. The mother pearl and red faux swarowzki is really great combo, I think. It lit up the whole thing..:)
Hmm...but somehow the photo didn't do justice to the real one. Or maybe my angle of taking the shot was somehow wrong :D

Anyway...presenting...mother of pearl & red swarowzki chrystal...with a matching earings

WHAT"S NEW????

I have finished with my last projects and these few days don't feel like doing anything. Well, there are lots of work to be done in connection with my upcoming exihibtion. So far everything seems to be going in the right direction..:D..
But I too have to start putting labels on my stuff again. There are 3 HUGE suitcases full of new stuff from my recent visit to Calcutta. And of course there are loooooonnnggg list of crafty projects to be DONE...
Besides I'm starting an ONLINE SHOP with my friend. We still trying to figure out the whole things actually...since this is our first ventures. And of course my ETSY shop which is there and I already have few things to upload but still havent got the time to do it ~ but hopefully SOON...

SO meanwhile, there are the things that I recently added on my ETSY

That's all for now...I gotta go ...till then...HAVE A NICE DAY

Personalized Coasters for Dear Friend

These are the complete set of coasters (6 of them) that I made for my friend's DH's birthday. She had some sort of cyber birthday party for him...(such a sweet gesture..dont you think..;) ;)...)
so without further a do here they are:

I hope they will like them though....well, actually I wanted to do blanket stitch all around the coasters but then I already very late for my SWAP with her so I just sent them yesterday....Ow..forgot to post what I got from my swap..:D...

Wall Hanging for personal swap

Seems I'm in embroidery mode this time..:D and I really enjoyed making this one. I made this for personal swap with my friend . I took the design from the same book as my previous post. The book is full of this pretty designs that when I saw it I feel like doing all of them..:D

And the sad thing is my digicam is stopped functioning 2 days ago and I took it to the service centre and hopefullly they'll be able to mend it...I took this embroidery using my handycam which somehow the color is not as bright as I'd like it to be...Anyway..I hope she will like it, though blue is not ger fave color..I know, I should've asked her in the first place..and I think I'm gonna making it up with something...(its secret projects ~ once done I'll post it here ;))

So..tadaaaa .....:
I put it on a mock frame using yellow manila paper
(dont have the blue one)

The design from the book:)

The details...the gold thread really brighten up the whole thing:)

Thanks for looking and HAVE A NICE DAY

I've done it

Finally I've done it...:D. Few months back I bought patterns from Etsy and one of them was baby frock with smocking design. The pattern was fab and I badly wanted to try it, but I've never done smocking before. And ne day I got this perfect fabric which I thought will be good for my 1st trial so I just cut it out according to the pattern, read and re-read the instruction carefully...and after lots of un-pick moments here is my 1st ever smocking...*LOL*...Hope you enjoy it..:D

The frock...
please dont mind the dirty wall. Been trying to clean it up but somehow my sons manage to write something on it again and again...

The detail
I think I should've used more strands..I really have no idea about this.

So that's all for today.....have a great weekends...~_*

What I've been busy with

Well, I haven't written for few days. Been little busy with few projects that I have and yesterday got a good news that I get a stall in a craft show here. It's quite difficult to get one here unless you have known people who will kind enough to introduce you to the organizer. This one Ava aunty had done it for me. Thanks a lot aunty..:) so now I will have to get my sewing machine running full speed...
anyway...here are few things that I've made and managed to take photo...frankly I'm not very good with this photo thingie..;P...

This small pouch I made for a friend. I embroidered it my self with design based on a book "The beginner's guide to freestyle embroidery" by Christina Marsh. I added few leaves and dots here and there. The fabric is upholstry raw silk fabric. The color is pastel green. I hope it shows in the photo..;)

this is the original design

This one I did the embroidery based on our old pudding bowl..:D. I wanted to to it for along time. This is only my trial. I'm going to make it again maybe on silk or linen (for napkins??)

Last week was my friend's DD 5th birthday. So I made her this pinafore and added monogram of her initial and put on a little roses there. The roses are readymade embroidery applique....

Here is the detail. Oh and I did button hole stitch all around the armholes & neck lines....isn't cute???

On white aida cloth

The first one..not that tidy

and the book...:D

I still need to buy more ribbons....;)
Till then....
