Pattern Testing - Myra Shopping Tote

The past few months I've been collecting and learning about vinyl and leatherette. There are so many names and quality. I bought few online and also locally from furnishing shop. Some of them are quite expensive but really have a luxury feel about it. And when Namrata is releasing new pattern, I'm jumping at the chance to test the Myra Shopping Tote.

The pattern is very easy and quick sew. As usual her instructions are very clear and straightforward. If you're concerned about printing too many pieces of pattern, worry now, cos she also provide measurements for rectangular and square pieces. I literally only need 3 pieces of paper to print.

The size is perfect for a tote and you can choose either to make a sturdy one or a floppy one like mine here. I only added stabilizer at the bottom to give it a little shape. And look at how spacious it is. By the way, finally I am able to use the Palm tree print!! It's a mud cloth or we call it Daboo in India. I still have few yards in the Shop

Two of a Kind Trifold Wallet

Finally I finished these 2  trifold wallets. I started cutting the fabrics around December then I was distracted to do something else. It happened all the time!
This is the first time I used the twist lock. I had it for a long time (Thanks Namrata!! <3 ) and finally tried it and I loved how these 2 turned out.

The fabrics I used for the exterior is European Linen from the Linen Club shop here in my town. They are quite expensive and never offer discount LOL. But it's worth it, right?

Card Slots, Slip Pockets, Zipper Pockets
The fun part is deciding what color use for the interior. Something to tone down the brightness. On one wallet, use this fun triangle print, which I think I got from Happy Quilt in Seoul and soft green stripes. On the other one, I used cheerful yellow flower print cotton and green polkadots.

This trifold wallet has 12 card slots (the pattern has 16 card slots variety too), 2 slip pockets and 2 zipper pockets. The exterior zipper is invisible style but it's very easy to sew it! In fact, that's my fave part.

On Etsy
Both of them now available in my Etsy Shop and Webshop (for Indian buyers). If you want to make the wallet, you can always get the pattern in my Pattern Shop or just click the one below.

Thank you for stopping bye.

Kimono Wristlet Wallet

I've having a lot of fun experimenting with leatherette. I made wristlet wallets in all fabrics few months ago, you can see them here and here. And this time, I added a vinyl a.k.a faux leather. Here I am using Kimono fabric from Japan trip last year! The print is so pretty.

Kimono Wristlet
I'm quite comfortable to sew vinyl now, though I am still looking for teflon or roller foot for my Jack Machine. In the meantime, I rub a little of Vaseline  on the leather and voila, it glides smoothly. I read somewhere I can use machine oil, but I don't like the smell.

I added 2 rivets here because it's too thick and I don't have rivets with longer post. And I love it. It looks unique!
This pink wristlet can hold up to 6 cards, has 2 compartments and 1 zipper pocket!  Meanwhile, if you want to snatch this, it's available in my Etsy Shop (it's free worldwide shipping).

I'll be making more as time permits! My son's annual exam and  board exam are starting next week, please  wish us luck!

Have a nice day!

5 Quick Sew for The Kitchen

I need to make few stuff to freshen up my kitchen and I'm looking for ideas from pinterest. Something that is easy and quick to sew. Here are my list:

I think it will be good as a host gift or housewarming gift, right?

I always need cloth napkins to send with my sons lunch boxes. They are handy and of course one of a kind. Make it in your children's fave print. I

I think this will be good for bathroom hand towel too. You know when you have kids, they just throw the towel around after using :((

I don't find a tutorial specially for this, but I guess you can use this bag handle cover tutorial. It's basically the same.

This is one thing I need to make. The pattern is actually for gardening, but I've seen in Kdramas, they wear this sleeve while cooking which I think very good especially if you have to do a lot of frying in summer :D.

What do you think? Do you make stuff for the kitchen too? What is your fave?

Much love & Have a nice day!

Facebook or Not

Ok, finally it happened to my Facebook account. After 14 years, yesterday Facebook suddenly locked me out. I was asked to do security check and I did. The next minute, I got notification like the above picture.
I tried contacting them on Twitter (which usually there is real people behind it) but no news till now. I tried many other things that the people suggested on YouTube but nada!
Some friends wonder if it was hacked. And then I saw this on Twitter

what?! Even they are hacked. Well, what can you expect. I read on many forums, many people who get the same case like this, it's a gone case. You can either create a new one or just leave it.

Now, I use Facebook mainly for the groups. The quilter groups, bag maker groups, my pattern group, etc. Occasionally I promoted my shop in the seller groups, not that Facebook drive many traffics to my shop, unless I pay for Facebook ads.
For now I have new Facebook account, because I'm testing Namrata's new pattern and I have to be on the group to get an update. As for my Facebook Business Page, I don't have access on it now and I don't know whether they are going to shut it down or not.
