I made a few double zippers pouches a few months ago and record a video as well, but somehow the editing got shelved. However, this morning, I woke up with the idea of finishing the editing work!
Since I got my new iPad 10 a few months ago, I prefer to edit my videos on my iPad. My favorite is the InShot app. I've been using the app for years. I wasn't able to use InShot on my previous iPad Air since it was no longer compatible, but with my new device, I can continue to use this app for all my video editing needs. What is your fave editing app?
So yeah, now the video is live on my Youtube Channel. In the video, I scaled down the pattern a little bit. I used the doitrei pattern and reduce the height by 1/2 inch. It turned out pretty cute and just perfect for a wallet and even holds my iPhone 11. You can add tabs on both sides and turn the pouch into a hipster bag or mini sling bag!
This pouch is very easy to sew especially for beginners who want to learn to sew with a zipper. I use quilting cotton fabric and all-purpose woven interfacing. The interfacing is only applied on the exterior pieces. You can always use it on both the exterior and lining if you want a more structured pouch or add batting on the exterior piece.
Do let me know what you think of the video and if you have any questions, simply leave a comment under the video. I really enjoy making videos and I have a few that I still need to edit now and some I don't get to post on the blog (it's on my drafts actually). I'll publish the blog in the next few days or weeks.
Here's another double-zipper pouch I made! I cut a few more pouches to sew and now I am waiting for the mood to kick in. LOL. Nowadays I am batching everything when I am working on orders. That way I can always have something to sew.
Alhamdulillah for a busy January. If you follow me in Instagram, you may noticed that I won't be taking custom orders this month. I like to take a break from custom orders from time to time to give myself a room for new ideas. I have a long list of sewing wishlist and one of them is this Luisa Crossbody bag. A pattern by Sotak Handmade.
I wanted to make with Indigo blue fabrics and took out those three fabrics above. All are just beautiful and it was difficult for me to decide which one to work with first. After asking a few friends, we decided this middle indigo print would be the one and I loved how this turned out. I used dark blue denim as an accent fabric and decided to use ready made PU Leather strap.
Denim & Block Print Bag
If you've been waiting to make this bag, you really should go ahead. I love the simplicity of Sotak Pattern and as usual it's always thoroughly written.
Exterior Back Pocket
I made one change with the back exterior. The original pattern, it was two pockets but I found it's too small since I want to keep my phone in it. So I skipped the middle stitch and instead using the snap button to secure the pocket. In the pattern, the rivet was added for decorative purpose only. Now I have spacious exterior pocket for my phone!! Perfect!
Spacious Inside
The interior is very minimalist (which I love!) . The pattern called for interlining, in addition of the interfacing. I used a stiff fleece batting which I mostly used for bags nowadays and the result is sturdy bag that can stand on its own but the interior is a bit snug. In a way it's good for me since it's quite padded. It's good to carry my camera.
I think I'm quite organized and minimalist here lol. Those are the things that I usually carry everyday. The Doitrei Zipper Pouch is for my power bank, charging cable and headphone. The Zipper Tissue Pouch is for my tissue, lip balm, hand lotion and medicines (my anti allergy and indigestion tablets). Wet tissue packet, notebook and pen, small wallet and a mobile phone. I also keep small chocolates and sweets in the front pocket lol.
So that's my review of my first Luisa bag. I want to make a few more and trying different combination of interfacing/interlining. So excited!!
As promised in my earlier post that I will be releasing the pattern for the triple and double zipper pouch. This time I decided to give it a name and I'm not very good with naming things. I even asked my younger one, what should I name this pouch, and he said banyan tree! Boys 0_0
What is Doitrei? It's from Romanian Language which mean two three. Ha!!
This is a really great project to make with those scraps you keep for 'someday I use it' .
Like this strawberry double zipper pouch. The fabrics are from this patchwork pillow and when I made them into this cute patchwork little pouch , I just loved it!!
This will surely make a great gift for anyone in your family.
As suggested by my dear friend, Maria, I included pattern templates too.The pattern is now on 20% off both in my ETSY SHOP and WEBSHOP.

I'm back from the summer break in Indonesia. I apologize I could not visit and reply all the comments from my last post since I had to rush. I thought of replying and reading all the post during the holiday, but it just didn't happen.
Now I'm back in the sultry weather of Indian summer. The past few days I was busy with tidying up my home after I read about Konmari method (go and google it :D ). You may have heard, read or saw her post all over social media. I get the drift from what I read on the blog and saw on Youtube so I decided to buy her book. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, so I will tell you about it (hopefully) in my next post!
In the middle of the chaos I created, I managed to finished 4 multi zipper pouches, which 2 of them are orders. The opportunity came at the right time, just when I was thinking to sew a few pouches for stock. I was looking and considering a few options. When she DM me on Instagram, she wanted a pouch with multiple compartments and this style is just perfect.
I always love to work with new prints. I especially love the snoopy fabrics. I recently got quite a few snoopy prints from my trip to Indonesia just because they are just too cute to pass! Like this snoopy back to school print. Isn't it too cute?
I really love this colorful hearts print. This was the first multi zip pouch that I made. The pouch dimension is 8" W x 6.5" H which is so spacious! You can fit in lots of things in there.
