Mini Keychain Wallets and more

Mini Keychain Wallets

Hello,

Last month I made these small keychain wallets! They are so much fun to make and are my preferred mood booster project. The fabrics are all from my stash! These wallets are handy to keep small things like cards, cash, coins, lipstick, gum, etc.

I love to keep small wallets like these handy for gifting.  Sometimes my SIL or my MIL needs small gifts for their friends too.

I used the Twinnie Pouch pattern to make these wallets and also made a workflow video for it.  This is a very easy and quick project to sew. You can check the full video tutorial HERE but if you need a written tutorial, it's available on my website.

Speaking about patterns, I recently increased the price for the patterns on my ETSY SHOP only. I was actually reluctant to do it, but then the cost of running a small business on Etsy is also increasing. There were some changes for Etsy sellers in India, and now it is mandatory to use Etsy Payment.  That means, all the money goes to Etsy first and Etsy will send us the balance after deducting all the fees. It was a bit confusing in the first few days and one thing I miss is my daily Paypal deposit!

Besides that, I was also busy revamping my website. The new Ecwid instant site is perfect. Nowadays, I feel a bit apprehensive to learn new things. But I never thought that converting to the new site was so easy!  I love a website that is simple to operate, be it on a desktop or on a mobile app.

Now, for the last couple of months, I have also been using Shopify, especially for my patterns.  The main reason is to connect the shop to my YouTube channel. Setting up Shopify is a bit of a challenge for me.  I rant ehm talk about it HERE.  But that's of course from my point of view.

Well, having your own website is not as glamorous as it looks, especially if you are running your small business solo! For now, I like it the way it is. I tried to make more ready-to-ship wallets and pouches in between orders.

Thank you for stopping by!

Back to school with handmade pouch

Hello,

I'm back from the summer break in Indonesia. I apologize I could not visit and reply all the comments from my last post since I had to rush. I thought of replying and reading all the post during the holiday, but it just didn't happen.

Now I'm back in the sultry weather of Indian summer. The past few days I was busy with tidying up my home after I read about Konmari method (go and google it :D ). You may have heard, read or saw her post all over social media. I get the drift from what I read on the blog and saw on Youtube so I decided to buy her book. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, so I will tell you about it (hopefully) in my next post!

Multi Zipper Pouch

In the middle of the chaos I created, I managed to finished 4 multi zipper pouches, which 2 of them are orders. The opportunity came at the right time, just when I was thinking to sew a few pouches for stock. I was looking and considering a few options. When she DM me on Instagram, she wanted a pouch with multiple compartments and this style is just perfect.

All my handmade are customizable and now you can check the available fabric collection in my NEW INSTAGRAM @chezviesfabs

Snoopy Denim Pouch

I always love to work with new prints. I especially love the snoopy fabrics. I recently got quite a few snoopy prints from my trip to Indonesia just because they are just too cute to pass! Like this snoopy back to school print. Isn't it too cute?

Snoopy Back to School

I really love this colorful hearts print. This was the first multi zip pouch that I made. The pouch dimension is 8" W x 6.5" H which is so spacious! You can fit in lots of things in there.

Pink Hearts Zip Pouch

You can even use it as make up pouch or even a passport bag! It simply versatile pouch.

What about you? What did you sew this week?

Thank you for stopping by,

Until then,

Simple Zippy Pouch and another Heidi

Remember I made Shibori Heidi foldover clutch last week? I simply love white and blue shibori, so I decided to make this simple zippy pouch and combined it with blue denims

Sometimes this simple thing that can make you happy.

Chevron Blue Rayon Cotton Indian Fabrics, Indigo Blue and white fabric, shibori fabric, dual color fabric, HALF YARD

this zippy pouch is perfect to carry in your big purse. I always keep at least 2 pouches in my purse. It's so handy to keep your bag organized.

Shibori blue zipper pouch, white blue cosmetic pouch, pencil pouch, pen holder, bag organizer, denim pouch

I added this simple pouch in my Etsy shop and the shibori fabric is available in my fabric shop.

And I finished another Heidi in Japanese linen. The fabrics were from long ago. I found it when I was looking for another fabric. That was some kind of aha moment. I thought of doing similar to the previous one with the accent at the bottom. But as I was ironing the interfacing I was thinking why not using 2 different fabrics? Et voila, la Heidi with vintage floral linen and newspaper print linen.

For the strap, I cut my genuine leather sheet I got from my last trip to Indonesia. I simply cut 3/4" x 115 cm and added swivel hook at both ends. I didn't have a slider yet, maybe I should get some.

This is the smaller size of the Heidi pattern by Swoonpatterns. It's perfect size to make sling bag. I still have enough fabric to make another one.

I know I'm going to make more Heidi, maybe a little variations.

That's all I finished this week, until next time

{TUTORIAL} Bunny Pencil Case

My elder son told me last week, why don't I start a youtube channel for my tutorials. He suggested after he saw me  making short video tutorial for my friends.

Giving it some thought, and I said "why not"?!. I can make a picture tutorial movie instead of the video tutorial. As it is I have a couple tutorial ready to share in this blog but have not got the time to upload it.

I have the pictures uploaded in my Google+ Album for my Indonesian friends who want to learn making basic zipper pouch. We did the sew along and it was FUN.

So I sat down and start adding caption to my photos and make a picture movie in PICASA. I love PICASA its so easy to use!!

So, for you who want to make this cute Bunny Zipper Pouch, check my new Youtube Channel !!

Here's the video tutorial:

I think video tutorial is more effective, since it's easier and more practical. Not everyone have time to read the whole tutorial description. My tutorial always have lots of pictures and in blog, sometimes it takes longer to load the pictures.

What do you think?

Until then,

And all these little things

Your hand fits in mine like it's made just for me
But bear this in mind, it was meant to be
And I'm joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me...

I know you've never loved the crinkles by your eyes when you smile
You've never loved your stomach or your thighs, the dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I'll love them endlessly

I won't let these little things,
Slip out of my mouth
But if I do...It's you....Oh it's you...They add up to
I'm in love with you...

And all these little things

This and that

Remember in my last post I made the test block for the quilt? No..no..I haven't started the quilt yet, instead, I made cushion cover for the swap in Desi Quilter's group.

I love how it turned out
I really love line quilting, I tried different kind of decorative stitches but this is my favorite

I got a nice grey cotton fabric. It's a man's shirt fabric but hey, if the color match, I'm game, right? :D

and use this polkadot and floral as backing. This was leftover from my tunic's fabric.

*********

And few more finished this week :

Double zipper pouch for my son
he's been asking me to make one for him
so I thought, something that can hold his pencils, crayons, and whats-not that he always takes to school ^_^

and while I am at it, I just can't stash back the mickey fabrics. So, I made a mini tote with drawstring closure. It's padded and interfaced. I think it'll be good for my DSLR camera, or maybe use it as lunch bag, or errand bag or diaper bag? well, a girl can never have enough bags, totes, wallets....right?

and the remnants from the passport wallets, I made this cute little zipper pouch

and don't you love those little hearts?
This definitely will become my favorite

I use fusible interface and thin batting for this wallet and love how it turned out.

So, what are you working on this week?

Until then,
Happy Sewing

one of my 2015 resolution

is to put a good use of my scraps.

This little pouch is as a kick start project.  I used my postage stamp block to make this

everyone asked me about the pink sewing machine ^_*
it's too cute, isn't it?
I got it when I was looking for super heroes figures for my sons and I know I should buy it ^^

I simply love using decorative stitch for quilting

That cute button I got last year from Indonesia
I just could not resist anything cute

This pouch has gone to one girl, who visited me last week
she just could not let it go once she saw it. She said she's going to put her clips in it ^^

if you want one, I list this in my ETSY shop too as custom order

I have {more than} enough scraps to make this pouch ^^

Until then

Let the music play

Few weeks back, the boys' piano teacher said that she loved the pencil pouch I made for the boys.
She didn't believe that I made that my self *ahem*
So I said I will make one for her

I guess fabric is like destiny. I admit that I collected fabric faster than I sew [any body with me?] >_<
but then you never know when ideas strike or when you're going to need certain print, right?
Just like this time

I decided to make with the black and white one and gave a red lining to match with the zipper
well, black and white and red never goes wrong ^_^

oh and she loved it!
What can be a better reward than someone who received your handmade with pure delight in their eyes? I'm blessed _/\_

As usual, I made few more but of different type

Boxy long pouch, which is perfect as amenity or toiletry bag

and another one is the triangle pouch.
The triangle pouch is good for keeping sewing or quilting tools, isn't it?

I didn't use any interfacing or stabilizer here

Instead I used flannel as batting and quilted it using decorative stitches.
oh I love using decorative stitches for quilting. it gives personality to the whole look of the quilt.

Flannel batting is my favorite, since it's easily available here. It's perfect for tote bags and runners.
It's light but give enough structure to the bag/quilt.

I tried using thin foam but I was not satisfied with the result plus it's rather difficult to sew. At least for me.

The pouches are available for purchase at my Etsy Shop

Lots of zippy pouches

The birthday party went off well last Sunday and even the grown ups wanted the zippy pouch that I made to fill in the goody bags.

It was on impulse that I decides to make these zippies. I asked the birthday boy to choose the fabrics and he did.

The big bro even wanted to me to show him the sewing process. Later on I found out that he bragged abit about his mom sewing the pouch to his friends. How sweet is that! My best compliment!

A friend saw my post and wanted for her daughters, hence the pink series ^_^

Some of these pouches already up the my ETSY SHOP .
Go and grab few now, it comes in a Gift Pack of 3

I really enjoy making pouches. In fact I always do.

I have done few more of this pouches yesterday.

and now, I better back to my quilt ...

pssst! don't you like all those fancy picture editor in your android? Well, I am addicted to them. recently found this pipcamera which is awesome!

until then

Lots of pouches

My new XperiaZ is badly need a pouch or wallet, so that it wont disappear under the junk ummm stuff  inside my carry-all bag. And while am wondering about what design I will make, a friend of mine tweeted me after saw my kindle sleeve

I tried quilting it using decorative stitches on my Bernette

She said she needs one to carry 2 phones plus little slot for cards. Well well... Omen I must say, so I play around a bit with these lovely fabrics which I bought sometime back.

1. This is a quick one and versatile. I end up using this for my external hard disc, the cable fits in nicely in the front pocket :). I made tutorial for this one HERE

2. This one is my favorite - fabric wise - look at those cute and colorful owls. This one has divider which is  perfect to carry 2 phones, so they won't bump against each other.

3. And this one slightly longer with divider and slots of cards

and now I'm making few more for my friends and maybe add them to my ETSY

Until then...
