Scooter Family Travel Wallet with Zipper Closure

Don't you love this cute scooter print? I got the fabric from Indonesia few summers ago! i knew then this fabric would be great for travel wallet. Don't you think? I decided to go minimalist with color and I love how this turned out.

I am thinking of making improvement for the family passport wallet pattern. I tried to record a video as I was working on this wallet, but it was not so good. I will try to record another one when I make my next wallet. I still have the video , if any of you need it urgently, you can email me after you purchase the pattern.

Meanwhile this wallet is ready to ship and  available on my Etsy shop. If you want to make your own you can get the pattern on my Webshop or Etsy  You can find the additional Zip Around Closure tutorial HERE
I hope I can post the video soon. Now I gotta go. Today is the eldest son second concert with Cadenza! We're all so excited.

Until next time,

Have a nice day!

More Passport Wallet and Keyfobs

Hello again,

After a round of viral flu in our family during the last week of August and first week of September, now I'm back to sew again and has a long list of stuff (orders and not) that I have to finish. In the meantime I finished a couple of family passport wallets and also keyfobs.

Hello London Travel Wallet

Looks like my customers love the zip around passport holder and if you already got the passport wallet patterns, you can check this Tutorial for zip around closure

World Map Passport Holder

The map passport holder above is for 8 passport slot. I do love the green combo. This is the second one that I made for custom order. I got the fabric from an Etsy seller in the US. It's Tim Holt's Eclectic Elements. I got several map prints together to save up on the shipping. Shipping for US to India is quite expensive and on top of that I had to pay for custom duty. But it's worth it! Don't you think?

Disney and Elephant Key fobs

The fabric key fobs and key rings are so much fun to make. It's such a scrap friendly project that you can sew it in a jiffy. The Disney key fobs only available for 2 pieces above. That's the only pieces I have left in my stash.

I especially love the denim keyring. I wanted to use the fobs like the Minnie Mouse key fobs but it turned out it's too thick for the fob to set in. My sons and DH love the swivel hook version though, because it's easier to attach and detach your keys.

Which one is your fave?

Ah btw, I had  a lovely gathering last Saturday with fellow crafter/artist! Mostly are young crowds and I love their enthusiasm, which is very contagious! We're planning an exhibition sometime before Diwali here in Guwahati. Subscribe to my Blog to get the updates for follow my Instagram.

That's all from last week. I'm going to work on a couple of wallet orders this week and Insha Allah will start writing a new pattern when the sons' exam is finished.

Until next time,

Happy Sewing!

Snoopy Family Passport Wallet

"Increase your good deeds, so you won't have time for the bad ones - Ramadan Quote - Mufti Menk "

Ramadan is half way through now. How time flies. I've been busy catching up with prayers, reading the Quran, cooking and a little bit of sewing.
Nowadays, we can listen to Islamic lectures from scholars around the globe. Alhamdulillah for the internet! We can learn so many things!

I made a few Indonesian snacks I learn from YouTube too. My fave channel for Indonesian food is Dapur Dina. I tried many recipes from her and always successful. Well, Ramadan is the time when you really miss your hometown and your food, right?

Back to sewing, I finished this Snoopy zip around family passport wallet as custom order last week. She wanted the snoopy print. I got quite a few snoopy prints from my trip to Japan and Indonesia last year so I'm very happy to finally use them.

The travel wallet has one long zipper pocket and one slip pocket. In the beginning I thought it would be too bulky on the seam but I already said yes to the customer. I did this quite often X_X.

I tend to be too excited for the challenge but Alhamdulillah it turned out fine. In sewing, sometimes what you imagined is not always applicable but then you can always find a way to make it work for you.

If you haven't already, you can check the zip around tutorial on my previous post. If you have any questions regarding the pattern, you can always email me and I will try to help you as much as I can.

And here's what I made last week! I was watching YouTube about different typl of dumplings across Asia and here's my Indonesian version of Chicken Dumplings with Grated Carrot on Top. You can find the recipe HERE.

Indonesian Chicken Dumplings

So, that's a little story this week. I hope I can write more often. I still have a few pending stories from my Japan Trip this year! Well, it was all on Instagram but I'd still love to write them down for future reference. Thank you for stopping by!

Have a nice day

Zip around Family Passport Wallet

Hello,

Many people asked me on Etsy if I make zip around wallet and finally I now I can give the option. Introducing the new zip around family passport wallet!

image 0

Installing all around zipper is quite tricky, because the wallet is interfaced with heavy interfacing plus batting.  So I made several changes on the interfacing. I used heavy interfacing only on the main lining and using woven interfacing on the main exterior and used the same thin fleece batting for the padding. It worked out beautifully.

I will take photos and maybe videos when I make the next wallet and write a tutorial for it in my next post.  Make sure you subscribe to my blog so you won't miss the post.
This Paris family passport wallet is now available on Etsy You can choose for 4 , 6 or 8 passports. It's very handy and keep everything securely inside.

I also made the above travel wallet ( a custom order) with zip around closure. I will make more of this for stock (and I need to sew up those stash!) . The green London print fabric is finished now but I have the peach one in case you want the same print.

You can buy the Family Passport Wallet Pattern HERE , ETSY or in my WEBSHOP

Thank you for stopping by,
 Have a nice day!

More Family Passport Holders

Guwahati, Assam, India
Hello again,

I finally finished this Disney theme Family passport holder for 4. I started the wallet last Sunday. I am currently taking medicine for my chronic allergy which make me very drowsy especially during the morning hours.

This Paris theme is another family passport holder I finished last Sunday. It went out for delivery on Monday but turned out there was a Bharat Bandh. That is a national strike called by the opposition party.

This one is for 6 passport. I found the fabric during my konmari cleaning session and so happy to find it. I thought I didn't have more of the fabric.

I think even fabric, every piece of them has their own destiny! I made similar passport holder earlier but I this time I used a different fabric combo. I always try to make every wallet different, so everyone will get special one!

Both the passport holder using the same pattern. I wrote a Tutorial on how to adjust the pattern to make 4 passport holder

I hope the recipient will be happy and love the passport holder!

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Crafting

Cute elephant Passport Holder and Travel Wallet

Hello again,

I hope you had a great weekends! It's getting warmer in here and new leaves are coming out and with a few spell of rains the trees look fresh!
The boys are having session break holidays and they plan to have a few boys over for the day.

Elephant Passport Holder

In the meantime, I finished a couple of family passport holders. A custom order from my Etsy shop. I really love this colorful ellie print. I made a basic passport cover earlier with the same print.

This model is the most popular one in my shop. I published the pattern last year and it's really a humbling experience to see how others made and interpreted the pattern. Thank you so much for you who tagged me on Facebook and Instagram

Another one I finished was this Passport Wallet in African Women Print

This passport holder model can hold 4 passports and a few cards. It even has long zipper pocket and 2 slip pockets.

It's perfect to keep all your frequent flyer membership cards and documents even when you're not traveling. I am using a single version of this model when I travel alone.

That's all the news from my sewing room. I still have a few wallets and quilts to finish this week. Hopefully I can complete a few things on my to do list! What about you? Have you tried anything new this week?

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Industrial Sewing Machine Review - Jack F4

Hello,

I mentioned in my last post that I got a new machine! Yes another one. I always wanted to get one industrial machine but hesitating a lot. Reading a lot of reviews and visited the machine dealer in my town didn't help much. So last year I decided to get Singer HD instead. It was after I saw Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabric Youtube video that I decided to get one this year.

Well, I am a firm believer that everything will happen at its own time and place. Man proposes, God Disposes. I was chatting with Raji of Homemaker's Hustle and she told me she got Jack industrial machine. I saw so many video about it last year when I researching for industrial machine. I called up my dealer, and voila he said he got Jack machines! I watched youtube review again and decided to get the F4 model. And the verdict? It's so worth the wait!! Why?

The machine is pretty quiet and you just have to switch on and you're ready to go. This was my main concern last year. Most of the industrial machine that is sold here has a clutch motor.

I've been playing with it for a few days now. Getting used to the speed and love that I don't have to keep changing machine foot. Not even when I sew zipper! I finished 2 passport holders and a couple of mug rugs and quilt tops.

Other features include: Adjustable speed, half stitch and needle up button, and the best thing it sews beautifully from mulmul fabrics to thick layers of quilt and passport holder.

Now, I'm looking forward to sew more wallets and quilts! Let me know in a comment if you have any questions!

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Hello,

Happy Holi to my Indian friends! And if you plan to sew something this long weekends, I am currently running a HOLI special for All the Pdf Sewing Pattern in my shop! Grab one and start sewing for your loved ones! Ah the coupon code is HOLIHAI.  The sale will be valid through Monday!

You also can find the link on the right panel of the blog. And if you have any question, you can always email me

In the meantime, I almost finish with my pending orders. Well, February indeed was a busy month for me. I thank God for that.

I made a few family passport holders as custom orders from my Etsy Shop.

I am also happy that I finished off a couple of prints. Those who know me, I hoarded quite a lot of  fabrics whenever I travel abroad with the plan to make wallets. Well, the plan is still on, but the sewing has been very slow lately.

This travel print is the new print and I will be listing it in the shop shortly. Sewing the same pattern using different print really made me so happy. Because I get to use up my stash! Ha!

Now, I have this log cabin bag to complete. I'm a little bit behind the schedule this time. I always love the patchwork making process, but when it comes to quilting it, I always think like 100 times even for the smallest project. After perusing pinterest, youtube and blogs and asking opinions from my expert friends, I finally decided to do the echo quilting!..well, more about it in the next post. Now, I better finish the bag!

Here is the sneak peek

Stay tuned for the bag photo in the next post!

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Batik Passport Holder

Hello,

I finished this family passport holder last month. It was a custom order and she wanted it in Batik. Off course I was delighted. I've kept several bundle of bali batiks that I am selling in the shops for my future project.

Don't you love those bundles?

The new bundles are all so pretty and so inspiring. She chose one from the green bundle in my Fabric Shop and I really enjoyed creating this Family Passport Wallet

I decided to combine it with a matching green poplin and going with softer color on the inside. It matched beautifully. I hope she will love it.

For this wallet, she chose to add long zipper on one side and 2 clear pocket. Instead of the small zipper pocket like in the original pattern.
I've been planning to make tutorial on the long zipper pocket, but still have not got the time to do it. Insha Allah when I make the next wallet, I will take  proper pictures.

Until then,

Happy Sewing
