Zip around Family Passport Wallet

Hello,

Many people asked me on Etsy if I make zip around wallet and finally I now I can give the option. Introducing the new zip around family passport wallet!

Installing all around zipper is quite tricky, because the wallet is interfaced with heavy interfacing plus batting.  So I made several changes on the interfacing. I used heavy interfacing only on the main lining and using woven interfacing on the main exterior and used the same thin fleece batting for the padding. It worked out beautifully.

I will take photos and maybe videos when I make the next wallet and write a tutorial for it in my next post.  Make sure you subscribe to my blog so you won't miss the post.
This Paris family passport wallet is now available on Etsy You can choose for 4 , 6 or 8 passports. It's very handy and keep everything securely inside.

I also made the above travel wallet ( a custom order) with zip around closure. I will make more of this for stock (and I need to sew up those stash!) . The green London print fabric is finished now but I have the peach one in case you want the same print.

You can buy the Family Passport Wallet Pattern HERE , ETSY or in my WEBSHOP

Thank you for stopping by,
 Have a nice day!

Sunday Stash #4 - Indian Silk and Brocade

Hello and happy Sunday!

Welcome to another Sunday Stash Post. This week it's about Indian silk.
Indian fabrics are rich in colors and not to mention the variety of prints and design. Be it cotton or silk or other woven fabrics. Let's take a look!

Cotton Silk brocade with small golder flower in matte gold
Brocade is still considered as one of luxury fabrics. In India, most often seen in Sarees or party salwar kameez or lehenga.

Paisley Chanderi Cotton Silk

Besides, bags and handbags made of silk brocade become very popular. The stunning fabrics need no complicated design. Even a simple evening clutch will look stunning if made using these silk fabrics.

Sunday Stash #3 - Indian Linen Fabrics

India
Hello,

I've been pretty busy editing and tweaking the shops these days, especially the SEO. It is something that keep us, etsy sellers, be on our toes all the time, like literally. The works include, retaking photos, editing, etc etc. Believe me, have an online shops nowadays is not just putting up a pretty photos!

Like these linen fabrics which are so very pretty in reality and they are block printed!! The fabric texture is simply gorgeous.

Check them out!

Elegant Grey and White Linen Fabric
Linen fiber is very absorbent and clothes made of linen fabrics are very crisp and cool to wear, especially during the hot summer months.

Dark Grey with Pink floral Linen fabric

Black and Red  Linen
Linen is a natural fibre, made from the stalk of a flax plant. Linen is known to be extremely durable.
Gorgeous Navy Blue.
Linen fibers are hollow, moving air and moisture naturally. During the colder months, layer linen blankets or a throw to retain heat and warmth from your body. Linen reacts to the season and the body in contact with the cloth to give the best of all circumstances.  Linen is a natural insulator. It is valued for its ability to keep cool in the summer months and trap warmth in colder weather. This is all achieved through the natural properties of the fiber itself. (source)

Grey and Blue

The gorgeous linen fabrics are practically perfect for anything. You can make a matching dress with your daughters, or a tie for your man or boys!! I made a couple of passport wallets and my clients loved them!!

The best compliment!

I went to the mall last week with my son. After doing our groceries shopping, I lingered in the bag section and was thinking to buy small wallet that will fit my mini sling bag.

Image result for sewing is my superpower

And as I was choosing, my son become impatient and told me "Mama, why do you want to buy the wallet? You can make one ! "

I was surprised -- proudly surprised that my son acknowledged  my "super power" :D

I came home fully recharged and decided to complete these two wallets. The black one I started earlier but somehow got sidetracked (as usual).

I had lots of fun choosing the fabric for this card wallet. The pink fabric was from my previous quilt projects and it was matched perfectly.

This black card holder is the 12 cards slot variant.
Same like the previous slim wallet that I made

Don't you love the hidden zipper? It's so shabby chic !

and then my regular customer messaged me on facebook if I can make 16 cards variant, and I said of course!! She wanted in Indian prints and after looking at my shop, she wanted this indigo blue like the tote bag I made earlier.

This indigo blue wallet is the 16 cards wallet. Look how slim it is, even with the cards and notes inside.

I combined it with tan textured shot cotton. Perfect combo.

and as usual, I love to finish the binding by hand. Somehow hand sewing make me relax especially when I have this romantic korean drama to accompany me. Ha!!

I was on the last part of Lee Sang Yoon - Kim Ha Neul "on the way to airport" drama in KBS. It is such beautiful drama with realistic story line. What I love best, is this drama give you exposure to Korean Bojagi Patchwork , make me want to go back to Korea and visit all those patchwork museums and folk village *sigh*.

Ah by the way, the wallets is now listed in my ETSY shop. Let me know if you want in other print, I have more fabrics {since I'm a hoarder ^^} you can choose from.

Until then,

Happy Sewing

What is your favorite fabric?

Mine is cotton but whenever I go to fabric shop, I literally buying all kind of fabrics. I love everything!

Like this Rayon fabric. The Indigo color with splash of rustic and contract orange red was so unique.

Indigo blue Rayon Cotton, Orange red Rayon, dual color fabric, indian fabric, shibori print rayon, dress fabric, HALF YARD
Indigo Red Shibori Print Rayon
When I see fabric, I will have a lot of ideas in my head , should I make a skirt, a dress, tunic or quilt or bag.
The texture is so soft and the shibori print is so pretty. I will usually parade it in front of my sons and both of them will roll their eyes "Mama, please that's enough" sort of expression.

and here is another one

Dual Color Rayon

This is such gorgeous fabric. The patchwork-y style and the black/dark grey has the look of denim.

What will you make with this fabric?
