A Few Passport Wallets

Family Passport Wallet
Disney Passport Wallet

I just finished making this the cute Mickey Mouse family passport wallet. It's been on my WIP boxes for months waiting to be sewn and finally it's now ready and listed in the shop! The fabric is licensed Disney fabric I bought from my trip to Japan a couple of years ago. I bought a few Disney fabrics and my regret is I only bought half yard each! LOL. Come to think of it, I think I better start cutting and making something with those fabrics!

I am trying to building my ready-to-ship stocks in the shop, especially for bigger and more complicated projects. I cut and prepped so many wallets and keep them in separate bins. And when I am done with my custom orders, I pick up one project and finish it.

When I'm working on a custom order, I usually cut a few more of the same project. Sometimes, I cut 2 or even a dozen more, depending on how complex the project is. By cutting out extra projects, I will always have ready-to-sew projects available to quickly sew when I don't have a custom order.

Making wallets is time-consuming. However, if I prepare several projects at once, I can save a lot of time, energy, and money. I use a sublimation heat press to iron the interfacing, which makes preparing multiple projects efficient and practical. Cutting fabrics, interfacing, and ironing is sometimes a full-day job. My heat press was definitely worth the investment!

Here are a few passport wallets I made recently:

Musical theme passport holder I recently sent to Canada. I hope it will reach in good time. I am worried because of Canada Postal service frequently have disruption.

These Safari Wallets was order from a friend here in India. She wanted to gift them to her son and her friend who is a travel buff! She chose the same fabrics but with different combo. I still have enough fabric to make more wallets, so I put them up for custom order in the shop now.

The Safari Passport Wallet is perfect for solo travelers. It's compact and can hold a lot of stuff. I personally love this when I travel solo. It has a lot of space for passports, cards, money, ID card, pen holder, and extra spaces for other travel documents.

That's all for today, thank you for stopping by!

Happy Sunday,

Finally finished this small passport wallet order and it's now on its way to Hawaii! I got a few orders from Hawaii this last few weeks. There was a little delay with the previous order as turned out the shipping to Hawaii fall under remote area delivery. After discussion with my courier partner, we decided to go with USPS as it's the most economical one, even though it cost a little bit more than what the customer paid. But it's alright. The express shipping by FedEx and DHL are also available but it's way more expensive.

Anyway, I really love this vintage Paris theme fabric. Eifel Tower print is my all time favorite pattern. I have many in my stash! This was one of those impulsive buy, but when you go to Japan, you'd want to buy so many fabrics as you can!

Anyway, I think this voyage passport wallet turned out really nice. I still have enough fabric to make 2 more wallets, so this wallet is available for pre-order in my Etsy Shop now.

I also added another passport wallet in Navy theme. The color is a kind of robin egg blue, very pretty color but it's a bit of challenge to find the perfect combination. This blue polka dots is the best combo I can find in my stash. Maybe I should try with another combo.

If you notice, I use a new photo background in the photos above. Nowadays we have so many options for photo backdrop. I think after the pandemic or so. Before that, it was  expensive, so I used to buy roll wallpaper and use it as a background for my photos!
So now I’ve got these wallpaper rolls that I didn’t use, I figured I would put them on the inside of my fabric cupboard. The cupboard was custom made and the carpenter just painted the inside of the cupboard to save money. It is how it is, but I like the way it turned out. At least the wallpaper is not wasted.

I've been doing a lot of  organizing around my sewing room lately. I keep saying I should start de-stashing some of them. This year maybe I should! There are a few things I want to do this year, besides de-stashing, I'd like to again streamlining my website so that it's manageable for me, as I run my small business all by myself. There are a lot of scenarios and also things to think about. As I am going through perimenopauses stage now, it seems like my brain is scattered all over the place, so I need to make everything as simple as possible so that I can manage it well. Well, I'll do this slowly, Insha Allah within the next 6 months or so.

That's all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a nice day!

Lots of Wallets

Trifold Fabric Wallets
Trifold Wallets

Hello,

I've been quite busy this month and making quite a few wallets. I had some problems with my Jack machine in between and had to use my Singer HD. It takes a little time to sew on a domestic machine again after a long time. I particularly miss the knee lifter. I called up the dealer and he sent the technician after 2 days. It was resolved immediately. Speaking about industrial machines, I am considering getting the compound industrial machine.

Anyway, from my sewing room, I made quite a few wallets. The first two are these Sheep Wallets! The first one is the Trifold Wallet and the second one is the double zippered wallet from Noodlehead pattern. It was a repeat order from a customer who loves black sheep! I made 2 trifold wallets as the customer wanted the sheep fabric on the exterior.

I have not made this double-zipper wallet for quite some time. As I was preparing to make this sheep wallet, I also cut a few more to make. I hope I will have time to complete them soon.
This pink sheep fabric is quite cute! I have a Nuno Zipper wallet and a Mini Trifold Wallet made with this fabric.

Next, I made these Small Hanami Pochettes. One is for a repeat customer and the other one I made for a stock. Well, actually the customer was asking for a rounded corner flap but I made a rounded flap! Luckily Hanami pochette is quick and easy to put together, so I quickly made another one! It's a blessing in disguise, now I have one pochette ready to ship in the shop!

I also made another Rosie wallet in this lovely blue floral print for a customer. I have the same print in Green and Pink, and now thinking of making the series. I love using Rosie wallet, as I don't carry many cards or cash nowadays. It can fit nicely into my small purse. The additional keychain to handy when I carry a big tote, I can clip it inside the tote bag.

The last one I sent out last week was this world map print safari passport wallet for a friend. It was a bit delayed in completion because I always forgot to send her the fabric choice. I forget a lot nowadays, so when a friend or acquaintance wants to order a wallet, I always suggest they buy from the WEBSITE. That way I can keep track of what I have to do next and when to send it out.

Safari Travel Wallet is versatile for solo or a couple travellers. Or even a small family who always travel together. I gifted to my sons when they go to college to keep their passports and other important documents.

So yeah, it was a pretty busy week for me and now I need to take 2 days break from sewing to tidy up my sewing room! It's pretty messy right now! I have a few more wallet orders for next week, so stay tuned!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a nice weekend!

Elvira
