Sunday Stash #6 - Floral Fabrics

Hello,

Big Floral Leaf Block Print Cotton

When it comes to floral designs, India has the most rich collection. All kind of floral shapes, size and colors. Many fabric designers claimed to have their inspiration from India

Floral with leheriya border

Floral design which inspired from the mughal era. The different color tone creates a unique beauty.

Colorful Block Print Floral

A traditional - eternal design block printed on solid based with faint leheriya or chevron design.

Rich and Bright colors - glace cotton fabric with contrast border

Off White Chanderi with embroidered border

Combination technique of block print and embroidery. Or even with woven floral design. The off white chanderi cotton above is my favorite. The fabric is simply luxurious cotton. Elegant colors which will be perfect for any kind of fabric craft.

White based with blue and pink block print flower
Green Paisley

Drop in at the shop in Etsy or in my WEBSHOP to see more collection of Indian floral fabrics.

Until then,

Pre-cut Indian Cotton Fabrics

Guwahati, Assam, India
Hello again,

I am still destashing fabrics and make them into fun and unique fat quarter bundles. I cut quite a lot but have not got time to create all. I got a few bundles which are ready to list.

Indian fabrics have such an interesting prints and unimaginable range of colors, that sometimes you don't need other colors or prints to compliment them.

Pink Purple Fat Quarter Bundle
Although nowadays, many novelty prints also make an appearance in Indian block print fabric, I personally still prefer the classic timeless prints.

Like this Indigo Fabric.

Indigo Block Print Cotton
Or these lavender pink fat quarter bundle. This kind of prints (with paisley design) usually will always be available. In India, during the summer month, people prefer white of or off-white based cotton fabric.

Lavender Pink Paisley & Flower Prints

I am making a few pouches and passport sleeve from some of these pre-cut fabrics. They are just super fun and fast!

Here is one of them. Isn't that cool? It's totally one of a kind!!

Aqua Green Passport Cover
Come to think of it, there are just so many things you can make from these pre-cut fabrics. I love buying pre-cuts whenever I go. With pre-cut fabrics, you can have more time to sew rather than to choose fabric combination, right?

So, what are you making this week?

Thank you for stopping by,

Until then,

I feel I bit off more than I could chew lately. For that, I will discontinue the newsletter. As much as I love to share news, tutorials, and tips with you all, I feel sharing on my blog and occasionally in my Facebook Group will give me more freedom to write extensively. I will do my best to share more tips on small business marketing and sewing ideas with you all. A lot of fun fabric bundles

Hello,

It's so good to be able to write the blog again. I've been writing in my mind all the time. I was so busy after I came back from summer holiday. I had a great time, by the way. I updated a few of the holiday photos in my Instagram account.

So here's what happened. I made fabric bundles!! Yes, lots of them and I am still making more. This is part of my destashing program.

Like these  Bali Batik Duos (it's Fat Quarter set of 2)

Floral Fat Quarter Bundle

I really enjoyed the process, cutting, putting the colors together, folding and taking good photos.

Looking at these pretty fabrics, really lift up my spirit. I still have a lot of bundles to make, if you're interested, you're most welcome to join Chezvies Fabrics Club  on Facebook where you can get the first dip on the bundles.

Make sure you check the shop to see what's available now.

Thank you for stopping by,

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Fabulous fabrics

I've been busy revamping my shops. Running online shops is not as easy as one two three anymore. Most people are selling online, so we have to get more creative in presenting our products. Thousand of competitors are emerging everyday. And VISUAL presentation is VERY important. So during this break time I pull out my stocks and starts re-taking pictures and editing and update the shop. And believe me, it's tiring LOL it's so worth it!!

Indian Cotton fabric in bright colors fuchsia, green, orange, floral fabric, geometric flower print cotton, half yard

I started one morning, I decided to pull out my stocks from the cupboard and start sorting out by the sets. Cutting, folding and ironing was the next step. Stacked them neatly for photo shoot.

Geometric lightweight fabric in pastel colors, multi colors Indian fabric, soft colors dress fabric, quilting, half yard

Winter sun was not so bright, the good thing is I can take photos until 1 pm in the afternoon. I set up my "photo booth" and start styling and start clicking. In between I took photos with my phone and posted them in Instagram. It took me almost 2 weeks to get most of the stock photographed.

I'm still editing few of them, but  most of the fabrics are updated in my website. Speaking about website, now I know why many handmade business coach always said about starting your own website or webstore? because it's SO MUCH FREEDOM, not to mention that you get to keep most of the the $$$, unless someone is paying thru paypal then you have to pay the paypal fees.

I have added currency converter too so it's easier for shoppers from outside India to purchase.

I've been working on the website  from scratch since October. It still need a lot of improvement.

I am using Ecwid  which I find quite easy for me with limited knowledge. I found using Ecwid starter site is quite beneficial to me.

So, please take a little time to visit my store at CHEZVIES and let me know what do you think about it. I'd love some feedbacks ;)

Thanks a lot for stopping by

 until then...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!

What is your favorite fabric?

Mine is cotton but whenever I go to fabric shop, I literally buying all kind of fabrics. I love everything!

Like this Rayon fabric. The Indigo color with splash of rustic and contract orange red was so unique.

Indigo blue Rayon Cotton, Orange red Rayon, dual color fabric, indian fabric, shibori print rayon, dress fabric, HALF YARD
Indigo Red Shibori Print Rayon
When I see fabric, I will have a lot of ideas in my head , should I make a skirt, a dress, tunic or quilt or bag.
The texture is so soft and the shibori print is so pretty. I will usually parade it in front of my sons and both of them will roll their eyes "Mama, please that's enough" sort of expression.

and here is another one

Dual Color Rayon

This is such gorgeous fabric. The patchwork-y style and the black/dark grey has the look of denim.

What will you make with this fabric?
