Quilted travel Wallet

Hello,

Last week was quite productive self sewing for me. I made 2 travel wallet for my self and my friend in Japan, Sari who owns this cute shop selling Japanese Kanzashi in Etsy .

She loved this tree print fabric which I used to make this passport cover

I only have one fat quarter which is just enough to make this wallet. It's amazing what 2 fat quarter can do, right?

For my self, I made this wallet using Suzuko Koseki fabrics I got from my last  year's trip to Japan Quilt Festival

I really love the quilted version of this. I used stiff fleece batting which I got from Tina of the Square Inch a few months ago. I added the thin fusible interfacing to give a little stiffness for the exterior fabric. While on the interior, I used as per the pattern instructions. You can get the pattern HERE.

For the interior, I added the flap. This is a fab idea from Maria when she did the testing for me. It's very useful,  especially if you're going to use it for everyday wallet. Very handy to use it as a smartphone wallet too.

I'm so excited to take this wallet. I hope I get to meet Suzuko Koseki again this week at the quilt show!!

So, who will there in Tokyo Dome this week?

I better get going now. It's a long trip from North East India to Tokyo but I am all excited to see my friends, the dreamy quilts and of course the fabric shops --err...shopping!

Until then,

Happy Sewing

A lot of Passport Covers

Hello again,

I will show you what I made a couple of days ago! Yes, I am still in 'use-my-scrap' mode. But sometimes, I could not resist esp when cutting fabrics order.

First is this Indigo blue paisley Passport Case. Everybody love paisley and I must admit, whenever I see paisley fabrics in the market, I must buy it. My suppliers even know this weakness of mine.

The second one is this  Black and Offwhite tree print which (I think) is just too cute to pass, right? It's good to gift to both man and woman.
Off-white Black Tree Print Passport Cover

I simply love this green passport holder. The color, the print, the color combination, all of it. I still have quite a bit of this print, I might make a single passport wallet or a family version too.

Green Passport Cover

This Aqua Green fabric I keep for quite a while. Recently I started making fat quarter bundles for the both my Etsy and Chezvies Shop. While cutting this, I decided I must keep a little bit and voila! This print and color don't always available in the market. I hope next summer my supplier will bring more of this color and print.

Then I continue making this black and white passport holder. I really love this fabric, that I used the same fabric for the lining. Afterall black and white is always timeless.

And these 2 cute passport covers I completed last  Saturday. I was not sure what to make of the dog fabric one. I thought the dog print would be too big for the cover, but it turned out perfectly fine. Even the I woof you print just on the right spot!

It turned out I still have this cute blue fabric from the quilt I made for Josephine, my friend Agnes' daughter, 2 years ago.

Blue Cat Passport Cover
The color is so soft, it was a bit difficult to take photos to capture the real color. My fave photo session time is in the morning before 10 AM but most of the time I have to do it after 10 AM. Good thing I put up a sheer curtain on my enclosed balcony, so it worked out well as a diffuser.

So, what are your fave pattern to make with your scraps?
Please write your blog or SNS link in the comment, I'll be glad to check them out.

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Pre-cut Indian Cotton Fabrics

Guwahati, Assam, India
Hello again,

I am still destashing fabrics and make them into fun and unique fat quarter bundles. I cut quite a lot but have not got time to create all. I got a few bundles which are ready to list.

Indian fabrics have such an interesting prints and unimaginable range of colors, that sometimes you don't need other colors or prints to compliment them.

Pink Purple Fat Quarter Bundle
Although nowadays, many novelty prints also make an appearance in Indian block print fabric, I personally still prefer the classic timeless prints.

Like this Indigo Fabric.

Indigo Block Print Cotton
Or these lavender pink fat quarter bundle. This kind of prints (with paisley design) usually will always be available. In India, during the summer month, people prefer white of or off-white based cotton fabric.

Lavender Pink Paisley & Flower Prints

I am making a few pouches and passport sleeve from some of these pre-cut fabrics. They are just super fun and fast!

Here is one of them. Isn't that cool? It's totally one of a kind!!

Aqua Green Passport Cover
Come to think of it, there are just so many things you can make from these pre-cut fabrics. I love buying pre-cuts whenever I go. With pre-cut fabrics, you can have more time to sew rather than to choose fabric combination, right?

So, what are you making this week?

Thank you for stopping by,

Until then,

Solo Travel Passport Cover

Hello,
I've been working on new  products for the shop for sometimes now.  I'm happy that since it's first released a couple of years back, my Family Passport holder is remain the most popular one in my shops, both Etsy and locally.

The recent trend of solo travel prompts me to create this small passport cover.

It's similar to any other passport cover out there, the only special is I added mini zipper pocket at the back.

Passport Cover with Mini Zip Pocket

I realized during my solo travel early this year that I do NEED this small passport holder. I'm using the Single Passport Holder Card Organizer from my shop and it worked great during my solo traveling. I can keep all my hotel bookings, forwarding boarding passes, tickets, travel insurance paper, frequent flyers card and foreign currencies all in one organizer.

However, when I reached my destination, I only need to carry my passport while I'm exploring the city. I need something small, but secure that I can tuck in inside my sling bag. The big passport organizer can be kept in the safety box at the hotel.

Start from research your keywords. I use Google Trends and Etsy Rank. I keep a small notebook and noted down everything that related to my product.

I've been studying for the past few weeks and slowly start editing and changing my shops. One thing I learned it's beneficial to hang out in Etsy Forum and Teams. Many member shares their tips and tricks and sometimes you will find a good link about how to do SEO. That's how I get to Renae's Blog.
