Orange is the new black

That's what I read the other day and maybe it's the season that I seem to work with a lot of orange in the past few weeks.

I was cutting fabric for a client  and  I suddenly had this 'AHA" moment. I wanted to make this cute bag from Sewsweetness free pattern "Baker Street Bag". So after sending my orders of the day, I went ahead and sewed away.

And look how cute is this bag?

Ikat & Denim Bag
The pattern is surprisingly very easy to follow. It's a good size for you who love to go "minimalist" . Ehm I tend to carry many stuff  like doraemon ^^.

See, it fits my notebook, kindle, and wallet. It also has small zipper pocket and quite spacious slip pocket for your phone, pen and maybe tissue or your specs.

Orange small shoulder bag, ethnic woman handbag, zippered denim jeans bag, cute tote bag, orange small purse, 21st birthday gift for her

Isn't it smart? I think it's going to be a perfect gift for your mom, girlfriend, niece or daughter..or your self?? :D

I know I am going to make more in the future, I am thinking of quilted one. What do you think?

Until then,

The bag is available for purchase in my ETSY shop as of now.

Hello April!!

April is here.
March was quite productive month for me, tho I didn't really blog it but yes I had quite few finishes. Mostly I share in Instagram or my Facebook Page. it is more practical but I find blog is better. Because in blog I can tell the stories and I can always come back here to read it and having a good laugh over it. Well, at least I do.

Yesterday, I finished another Super Tote for a friend. I promised her the bag few months ago after I finished making this Tote. She wanted bag where she can tote around her laptop. And this one is just perfect

I made with one big pocket with elastic.

I made with fully interfaced on both exterior and interior and added a thicker needle punched felt kind of material. Some kind of dense fleece to make it sturdy.
I still using grey jute as my previous Bag but this one is a bit smaller and sturdier.

don't you love that ikat print? I so wanna make more with the other colors. But that have to wait,I still have few pending Passport Wallets to make

ChezVies

This bag will go all the way to Indonesia to meet its new owner.

And as I was roaming around in the garden to take the bag photos, my younger one  happily posed for me. His t-shirt matched the bag!! Green and blue :D

and a pic of my MIL's hanging pots.

I so love my Canon 50mm f1.8 STM. The bokeh is perfect, esp for novice like me, this lens seems like my saviour.

Until then,

Lemonade Star Table Runner

I finished this!!

I was feeling listless and started opening my scrap boxes when I came across the yellow, blue and green strips, and I thought why not making another friendship star.

and so I did

I like the yellow, blue and green against the white. It give spring-y feeling. Well, I do wish spring come faster. February is sort of my "down" month. Though the temperature is pleasant, but it's dry and dusty in here. This is the season when almost everyone get cough and cold.

When I work on a project, I choose my fabric as I go. I don't go all at once at the beginning. Many times I will change my direction or preference.

This was my initial design. I wanted something "white-ish" as the outer border and I love this white with green flower. But after I put it together it doesn't look as good as I imagined.

so, it's unpicking times. Thank God for Kdrama, unpicking became a tolerable activity :D .

then I searched for yellow instead of blue or white. and I love it!

Quilting was fun and quick. Though I want to do other quilting design, but I ended up doing meandering again. This time a little bigger than the RED RIDING HOOD one.

binding as usual is finished by hand while watching re-run of  my "good feeling" Kdrama, My Princess.

Don't you love the backing fabric? It was just perfect match!!

et voila!!

my lemonade table runner!!

another shot!!

This table runner is on sale at

And all these little things

Your hand fits in mine like it's made just for me
But bear this in mind, it was meant to be
And I'm joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me...

I know you've never loved the crinkles by your eyes when you smile
You've never loved your stomach or your thighs, the dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I'll love them endlessly

I won't let these little things,
Slip out of my mouth
But if I do...It's you....Oh it's you...They add up to
I'm in love with you...

And all these little things

Say it through your wallet...

a handmade fabric wallet that is ^v^

I have this cute fabric lying in my cupboard for over a year now. I bought it through a friend who lives in the US of A. We have this chat group on Whatsapp where we shares ideas, jokes and our fabric loot. But the shipping from US is killing me, but then there's nothing like a good investment (said a fabric hoaders of course). Ha!

Anyway, I bought few pattern of wallet and reading numerous blog post and finally settle for this simple wallet. I wanted something sturdy but light, compact, fit in my notes and few coins. And which will fit in into my purse.

Hmm...I'm using my old leather wallet as a benchmark for sizing. I made a little bigger and wider version, since Indian currency notes are quite long.

look at the outer fabric! I love love it!

I used two grommets snap buttons. Psst, it's not that hard to attach these buttons.

Since I don't like to waste fabric, I make wrist strap from the remaining binding fabric.

Well, I still have a little more of the fabric, enough for 2 wallets. Just go to my ETSY shop and grab it fast.

Until then,

Happy Sewing

Everyone needs Family Passport Wallet

Oh yes, I know how it feels carrying 4 passports, residential permit, marriage certificate, exit permit plus my PIO card while travelling. Not to mentions the tickets - several of them since we always have to have several stop overs >_<.  The options I have are store bought leather passport wallet or the one from the travel agents, which barely survived one trip.

So, why not make one? Yes..so, benchmarking from the store bought wallet, here's my straight and simple {and cute} Family Passport Wallet

This wallet can hold up to 6 passport and spacious long pocket on the sides to keep your travel documents and small change.

It has a small swivel hook for your luggage keys (yay)

I used Indian cotton fabric and heavy interface. It's sturdy and  a wide velcro closure will keep everything in place.

Another one I made was using this cute hot air balloon over the Eiffel Tower fabric. Bought them from this shop during my trip back home last July.

when folded

I love that little hexagon there ^_^

This wallet will make a perfect holiday gift.
Both the wallets are listed in my ETSY SHOP
Visit the shop or my Facebook Page if you want custom order

Until then
